There is nothing more beautiful than an arrogant ﷲ because an arrogant ﷲ decimates the arrogance of man. Only in an overly pampered, sanitized, and spoiled-rotten society like the modern West can one even begin to pontificate against the Almighty and complain about the violence in the Bible and Qur’an. Verses about slavery and genocide and teachings about Hell and the weeping and gnashing of teeth don’t mesh well with the cute-Tellytubby false god Westerners fantasize about, and/or imagine themselves being. And yet Westerners will openly endorse candidates who will unleash Hell, genocide, and slavery onto the “backwards Arabs” across the Atlantic without a hint of self-reflection on the irony that inevitably materializes. They don’t realize that given enough distance, they are just as capable of genocide as the Nazis, the IDF, the Taliban, etc. That is the lesson God teaches the Israelites in the Pentateuch when he destroys the Canaanites to make room for his people. He warns that if they live like the Canaanites, they will receive the same fate.
Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. And if you forget the Lord your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I solemnly warn you today that you shall surely perish. Like the nations that the Lord makes to perish before you, so shall you perish, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God. — Deut. 8:17–20
But everybody thinks that they are paragons of morality. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen comments on YouTube videos covering Israel’s current genocide, asking some form of “why can’t we all get along?” Only someone who has never faced real hardship, or is oblivious to the hardship of others could even dream of such a question. It can only exist if one lives in Tellytubby Land, which is now my preferred term for the Midwest suburb. How does one live in peace with a neighbor who is slaughtering their family and friends and has done so for the past eighty years? I felt physically ill hearing Tim Walz bumble through the same neo-con talking point for the past year that this current “conflict” — to use NATO vocabulary — started with the October 7th attacks last year. To believe that at this late date, I am convinced, means you either have to be stupidly ignorant or demonically evil. There is no in-between here. And yet, we are constantly bombarded by the Democratic Party insisting that it’s the party of “hope” and “democracy”. The difference between the Republicans and Democrats at this stage in the game is that Republicans are wolves appearing as they are and Democrats are wolves in very poorly disguised sheep’s clothing. And come next month, I will be gaslighted by those who still buy into our country’s bullshit into “participating” in my “civic duty”. Well, I plan to head straight to my polling place on election day and write in “Free Palestine” on the ballot. There. I did my “civic duty”.
The kleptocrats in Washington are evil and I am tired of them, but there is nothing new under the sun. Biden and Trump are the twin descendants of Cain and his unnamed sister-wife. The Three Scrolls were far ahead of their time, and even today, their own so-called proponents haven’t the faintest idea (nor care) what they actually say or teach.
The Three Scrolls and their presentation of a supremely arrogant ﷲ is the only hope against the arrogance of man. That is the teaching of scripture. No matter how brutal the Pharaoh or Nebuchadnezzar is, they are merely playthings compared to the God of the bedouin father (’ab) of the weakling lamb (rahām) and his descendants in submission. The God of ’abrahām, through his katūb (writ), is our only deliverance from this present evil age. Why? The human ego is eliminated. Look at his two apostles. On the one hand, we have Paulūs whose Latin name means “the little one”. Why? So that his message of table fellowship could be bigger than himself. On the other hand, we have Muḥammad whose name comes from the Semitic triliteral ḥ-m-d signifying praise, beauty, and pleasantness. It’s right there in the phrase, early on in the Qur’an, al-ḥamdullilah — all praise be to God. Like his forerunner Paulūs, Muḥammad is small in the Qur’an. He is only mentioned by name four times, and his primary function in the text is to be its recipient. He is a quiet and humble man, uneasy with violence (2:216) and even publicly admonished by his Lord a couple of times (66:1, 80:1–19). He is not a flamboyant personality, unlike a politician who must “market themselves” to you. Muḥammad functions to share God’s message with you and to be a warner. These two apostles are diminished because it is not they who are to be worshipped, but the God who revealed himself to them.
Perhaps nowhere is God’s arrogance put on display more viscerally than in the crucifixion. There, he boasts in human weakness by erecting his slaughtered locum tenens on the cross for all of his enemies to behold his shame. This is God’s trophy. Netanyahu delights in the slaughter of innocent Palestinians, while God was pleased to crush his suffering servant (Isa. 53:10). No matter how arrogant Netanyahu can prove himself to be, God will always surpass his scheming because God is the best of schemers (Q. 3:54). Where God can render beauty from the crucifixion by making Christ stand up from the dead (thus destroying the power of death altogether), Netanyahu will have nothing but blood on his hands and the judgment seat of the Almighty to face.
Thank God for his arrogance, and thank God for his deliverance of the innocents that the descendants of Cain slaughter without mercy.
I was deeply affected by a video I watched on twitter of a young Palestinian man burning to death in a hellscape, while attached to IVs and laying in a hospital bed. He happened to be in a medical tent, a striking reminder of Cain’s hatred against his bedouin brother. This is the Hell western liberalism tolerates. God have mercy on us.
I love this so much. All of it, really. Too many Americans want their god to be a Minnesota dad. Speaking as a Minnesotan, I give my heartfelt thanks to the 'Elohim of the Syro-Mesopotamian nomadic descendants of Terah, that He is such a magnificently arrogant deity, and NOT Minnesota Nice™.
Speaking of the supposedly-'backwards' Arabs (when it is in fact we who are truly backwards), I will be getting into the Arabic word for 'backwards' خلف in my next entry in the Chinese lexicography series. There are some really interesting cross-connexions with Sinitic lexemes meaning 'to wear', 'to put on', 'different', 'strange', 'outlying' and 'descendant'. And of course there is THAT Judges pericope about Ya3el stabbing Sisra2 through the temple with a tent peg, which uses the same Semitic root (חלף).
