Ya Ḥussain - Israel Attacks Iran
One day shall come to Asia’s wealthy land an unbelieving man,
Wearing on his shoulders a purple cloak,
Wild, despotic, fiery. He shall raise before himself
Flashing like lightning, and all Asia shall have an evil
Yoke, and the drenched earth shall drink in great slaughter.
But even so shall Hades care for him completely overthrown.
He shall be utterly destroyed by the race of the
Family he wishes utterly to destroy.(The Sibylline Oracles: Book III, lines 388–395)
It just came out that Israel went through with its attacks against Iran. This is an escalation. A point of no return. No matter how vicious Israel will be, the Western media will fall back on its routine of demonizing Iran. Netanyahu wants blood, and the rest of the world will suffer. Economically, militarily. Humanitarian crises, migrant crises, social unrest, poverty… it is all related.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the Republic of Ireland and how they are one of the few Western countries (if not the only one) that has not bought the propaganda of the IDF. In fact, Ireland has never been a part of NATO. Ireland is smart. They don’t want to cuddle up to thugs. And yet, they have a massive migrant crisis right now. Why? Because much less responsible countries have been destroying economies abroad. God bless the Irish.
And to top it all off, the Shia world (that is, the official religion of Iran), is entering the month of Muḥarram on June 27th. This is a month of tragedy for Shia Muslims, due to remembrance of the Battle of Karbala in 680 and the martyrdom of Imam Ḥussain, the grandson of the Prophet Muḥammad. The martyrdom of Ḥussain is a story of betrayal, where the institution of the Umayyad Caliphate persecuted the family of the Prophet. Imam Ḥussain was killed by his own brothers in Islam, and betrayed by those who claimed the religion of his grandfather.
Iran, Gaza, Yemen, and Lebanon are feeling this betrayal. This current instability was made exponentially worse when Donald Trump introduced the Abraham Accords, which set Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia permanently against the survival of their brothers in Gaza and the West Bank. A message was sent loud and clear to the Palestinians: we, the American Empire, will turn your family against you!
I’d like to end with a brief speech from the Ayatollah, which in Arabic means “the proof/ sign/ verse of God!”
Today, the world is filled with oppression and tyranny. Take notice of what tormentors are doing. Observe what they are doing in Palestine, what they are doing in Iraq, what they are doing in various countries, what they are doing with the nations of the world; what they are doing to the poor, what they are doing with the national wealth of the countries. Hussain Ibn Ali’s (AS) movement extends through all these areas. Imam Hussain(as) taught a lesson not only to Shi’a and other Muslims but also to all freemen of the world.
The leader of the Indian Nationalist Movement {Mahatma Gandhi} mentioned Hussain Ibn Ali (as) about seventy years ago and said, “I have learned from him.” Moreover, he was Hindu, he was not a Muslim at all. He has the same impact among the Muslims. This is the story of Imam Hussain, and you are the curator of such invaluable treasure from which all humankind can benefit.
Ayatollah Khamenei, Jan 9, 2008
May God have mercy upon all involved. Glory to Him in all things.
